About Canoeing The Grand

For over 30 years Canoeing The Grand has been a destination for novice paddlers, families/friends looking for together active time, individuals seeking quiet, groups wanting a bonding date and for nature lovers of all sorts. Get ready to be moved whether by canoe, kayak or raft. We are proud to share our heritage river and pastoral scenes at every turn with our customers. We provide shuttle service, and haul you and your gear to the river edge. Booking is simple, you arrive 20 minutes before your trip time and leave the heavy lifting to us! You have your canoe for the day to linger along the winding path. The earlier in the day you go, the more time you have!

Breslau Canoe 2 People

Canoe trips from the Breslau location are great for beginner paddlers taking approximately 2.5 hours..

Breslau Canoe 3 People

Canoe trips from the Breslau drop-off location are great for families and beginner paddlers. This trip takes approximately 2.5 hours, but you can relax and take additional time to enjoy the Grand River surroundings.

Breslau Canoe 4 People

Canoe trips from the Breslau drop-off location are great for families and beginner paddlers. This trip takes approximately 2.5 hours, but you can relax and take additional time to enjoy the Grand River surroundings.

Breslau Adult Kayak

Breslau is a lovely beginner rated trip by kayak. You can travel with your crew or savour the time alone!

Breslau Junior Kayak

The junior kayak is recommended for children 5-9 (accompanied by adult) 11 kms can be long for little arms but we have tow ropes!

Breslau Tandem Kayak

Our tandem kayaks are open bodied, flat bottomed for stability, and perfect for two passengers with room for a knapsack!

Blair Canoe

Starting at the Canoeing the Grand location, this trip will take you south along the Grand River to Blair.

Blair Adult Kayak

Our Blair trip has short portage, traveling from one of the oldest settlements on the river (Freeport) to another (Blair).

River Bluffs Canoe

Riverbluffs will take you to some of the prettiest sites, beautiful rock cut outs lovely green spaces, and open flat lands. .

River Bluffs Adult Kayak

River Bluffs is a great trip by kayak.There is a short portage, so easy to manage with our light kayaks.

River Bluffs Tandem Kayak

A tandem kayak is the perfect way to stay close on this beautiful section of the river.

Conestogo Canoe

Two in a canoe and room for a picnic basket and fishing gear. This trip leaves early and takes a minimum of 6 hours to complete.

Conestogo Dagger Kayak

Longer trips will be in the more comfortable Dagger Zydeco kayaks.

Conestogo is an 32 km challenge, but for those looking to see some of the most pristine sections of the river, the 6-8 hours is perfect!

Conestogo Axis Touring Kayak

This is a step up from the Dagger Kayak. More comfortable seats and a keel.

Conestogo Tandem Kayak

32 km of team work and plenty of time to put your feet up on the deck as you push forward on this 6 hour trip.

Kaufman Flats 2 Person Canoe

The entry at Kaufman Flats is lake-like and beautiful.
By canoe you can expect 4-5 hours of paddling at a moderate pace.

Kaufman Flats Adult Kayak

Paddling by single kayak gives you immediate choice if you want to travel in a pack or solo. 17 kms

Kaufman Flats Tandem Kayak

The trip is known to take 4-4.5 hours but has been done in 3 hours. You and your paddling partner set the pace.

Otterbein 2 Person Canoe

The entry is a little challenging for the canoe due to shallow shore. Once you are in the deeper water, smooth easy paddling awaits.

Otterbein 3 Person Canoe

The 3 person canoe reservation is for a family with a child ages 3 to 10 years old.
The entry is a little challenging for the canoe due to shallow shore.

Otterbein 4 Person Canoe

The 4 person canoe reservation is for a family with 2 children ages 3 to 10 years old.
The entry is a little challenging for the canoe due to shallow shore.

Otterbein Adult Kayak

Otterbien is just enough for a short efficient arm work out or perfect for those wanting a shorter trip. 7 kms

Otterbein Junior Kayak

An easy challenge for your small child to master while you paddle along side! (tow rope on deck)

Otterbein Tandem Kayak

With two paddling in unison this will be a short efficient journey! Perfect for good friends or parent and child!

West Montrose Canoe

There is something perfect about canoeing under the West Montrose Bridge early in the morning. 8 hours.

You start your trip at one of the most iconic bridges in existence in the unassuming village of West Montrose.

Kayaking via tandem will take 8 hours or less if you work well together! There will be room and time for a picnic.

Wilson Flats Canoe

You will probably just hit the tandem paddle stride and your trip will be over! 5 km of beautiful! adventure.

Elora Canoe

The Elora Canoe reservation is a special request booking due to the length of the trip.

Elora Dagger Kayak

Elora is a full day challenge. It is often part of a camping journey along the river. It will take you on a winding breathtaking course.

Elora Axis Touring Kayak

Taking an Axis kayak from Elora to Freeport is a day long adventure made a little easier with a larger, more comfortable kayak.

Elora Tandem Kayak

Taking a tandem kayak from Elora to Freeport is a day long adventure made a little easier with two sets of paddles working together!


Terms & Conditions

Please read prior to confirming booking confirmation.

I acknowledge that all associated services offered by Canoeing the Grand, hold areas of risk which are beyond the control of Canoeing the Grand.
I acknowledge that a $30 late fee, per boat, per 15 minutes for late arrival is to be paid after 5:30pm.
I hereby release and forever discharge Canoeing the Grand, also known as On the Grand Inc. and its respective servants, agents or employees from any claim, actions or causes of actions of every nature or kind whatsoever, however caused, arising out of, or in anyway connected with renting of equipment, notwithstanding that the same may have arisen by reasons of negligence of Canoeing the Grand Inc, its respective servants, agents and employees.
I understand that this is a self guided trip and I am responsible for returning to the Canoeing the Grand office, 3734 King Street East Kitchener, ON, N2P 2G5. Failure to complete the trip and request for pickup is subject to a minimum charge of $75 per boat, at discretion of staff.
I declare that this release is binding upon heirs, my executors, administrators, assigns and me.
I agree that I am fully responsible for all rented equipment and that I will remunerate Canoeing the Grand, for all losses or damages incurred by me.
I hereby authorize any images or video footage taken of my youth (under 18 years of age), in whole or in part, individually or in conjunction with other images and video footage, to be displayed on the Canoeing the Grand Website and other official channels, and to be used for media purposes including promotional presentations and marketing campaigns. I also authorize the display and use of any media material created by my youth within the Canoeing the Grand.
I waive rights to privacy and compensation, which I may have in connection with such use of my youth’s name and likeness, including rights to be written copy that may be created in connection with video production, editing and promotion therewith.
I understand that the transportation, consumption, and disposal of alcohol during equipment rental times, is strictly prohibited and, should any suspicions of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs; either a rescheduling of event or removal from the premises of Canoeing the Grand. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone that we feel is under the influence.
