Timber Ridge Cabins Attractions

Hiking, Biking, & Riding on Norfork Lake

David’s Trail is just three minutes from the cabins and across Norfork Lake is the Pigeon Creek area with trails for mountain bikes and hiking. In nearby Mountain View, about an hour away, is the Syllamo Bike Trail, a world class mountain bike trail consisting of over 50 miles of single track trails through the Ozark National Forest. Horseback riding is available at several locations around the area.

Lakes, Rivers, and Fishing!

North Central Arkansas is famous for the fishing on Norfork Lake. Also, fly fisherman come from all over to fish the world class trophy waters of the Norfork and surrounding rivers.

Timber Ridge Cabins is only six blocks from a marina. If you don’t have a boat, we can make arrangements for you to rent one. Scuba diving is extremely popular because the water here is so crystal clear. There are many fishing guides and outfitters available, plus canoeing and kayaking.

Golf
If you’re a golfer, one of the state’s top rated courses will peak your interest. Big Creek Golf Club has been five-star-rated by Golf Digest for three consecutive times, and named the #1 course by the same publication in several categories. Readers of Arkansas Business rate it the #1 public access course for four straight years.

The Twin Lakes Golf Club is only 10 minutes away and offers the par 70 Twin Lakes course to the public on a "daily fee" basis.
Around The Area
For site-seeing, the Norfork National Fish Hatchery is one of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife’s largest producing fish hatcheries. A special fishing area for the disabled and for those ages 15 and under is available at Dry Creek Run, a 1/2 mile long creek teeming with trout. You can even watch the trout leap the small falls as they make their way upstream.

Blanchard Springs Caverns is nearby with three incredible tours in this magnificent cave. The Dripstone National Recreation Trail winds through the upper level, the longer Discovery National Recreation Trail explores the middle level and the Wild Cave Tour offers visitors an introduction to spelunking in a structured environment.

In the same area you'll find the Ozark Folk Center, a unique state park devoted to preserving Ozark crafts, music, and heritage. Traditional craft demonstrations, live music performances, living histories, apprentice programs and workshops tell the story of this mountain culture.

One of the most photographed landmarks in the Arkansas Ozarks is the historic Cotter Rainbow Bridge. Built in 1930, this rainbow-arched bridge (five arches) is ranked among the most beautiful spans in mid-America and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Just to the north of us in southern Missouri you can drive the Old Mill Tour to see some of the nation's finest surviving pioneer water mills.

Plus, there is an excellent assortment of restaurants, antique stores and other shopping venues nearby.
