About Cycle San Juan
Our San Juan Island Bicycle Tour leaves from Friday Harbor daily. We’ll casually ride quiet back roads stopping occasionally to visit some of our favorite local parks and take in the vistas. Your guide may take you for a short walk among beach glass strewn coves as he or she shares the rich history of the area and an insider’s view of the San Juan’s. If you’re a nature lover, you’ll get a rare chance to learn about the marine wildlife, native plants, and geological history of the Salish Sea ecosystem.
It’s our belief that a great bike tour deserves great food and our Island style picnic lunch is fresh made, includes locally grown ingredients, and is a delicious treat! After lunch at Lime Kiln State Park (also known as Whale Watch Park) we’ll continue our bicycle tour to Pelindaba Lavender Farm, stop for some more scenic views and make our way back to town by about 4 pm.
The route is flat to rolling hills on quiet country roads and is designed for healthy and active people to enjoy. The total riding distance is less than 35 miles and we will be riding Fuji hybrid or road style bikes. These bikes have a nice casual upright riding position or traditional road drop bars and are surprisingly lightweight making them easy to pedal up hills. Whether you’re an avid cyclist or a beginner, there is no better way to see or experience the San Juan Islands.
