Snowshoe Lake is a 10 minute drive, has both rainbow and brook trout and are abundant, weigh up to 2 kg (4.4 lb).

Fauquier Golf Course is 7 k/m east. Needles/Fauquier ferry will get you across the Arrow Lake in about 7 minutes.

During winter months snowmobiling and snowshoeing is right out back. Skiing, heli-skiing and snowboarding are in the surrounding area.

Hunting is great out here, so if that's an interest, Deer, Elk, and Partridge are plentiful in the area.
