 Awesome park!

Review by LW on 8/9/26, 10:45 AM

We have been coming to Floras Lake for over 30 years. Absolutely love it here. Current park hosts are fantastic. They do a great job of keeping up with any issues. The park itself needs a few upgrades. The water hookups need to be replaced. The threading is not good and a lot of them leak badly. The fencing across from the bathroom needs to be replaced as well. There is a giant crack in the fence and it is not safe to lean against...Saw kids running up and jumping on it and was really afraid they were going to go over the edge. Fire pits really need gravel around the bottom on the outside. Love this special place and want to see it thrive for many years to come....

 Camp host

Review by Boice Cope on 8/7/26, 11:21 AM

I would give a five-star review except that we stayed next to one of the camp hosts who resides in site number 34. We stayed in site number 33 and were woken up repeatedly by her large white barking dog. It's so unfortunate that this happened. I've been coming to this park for many years and along with The barking dog she has multiple chimes and rotating metal pieces that are loud when the wind comes up which is usually all the time. I hope this gets remedied because she as a person seems nice and they do a great job with the park.

 Love this place

Review by Linda K on 8/3/26, 9:27 AM

Love everything about this campground! We come for the wing foiling and mountain biking and are never disappointed. The campground is very well kept by the hosts. They even have laundry (I didn't use it but it's good to know!) The only thing I wish was different is that I wish there was a bigger designated place to play with our dogs. The fenced doggy area was perfect for our puppy who was able to run and chase her puppy friends but it is not at all good for playing ball or frisbee with our older dog. Last year the middle lawn area was open for dog play as long as your dog was well under your control (ours is) but this year we were told no. I totally understand why, it seems like everyone in the campground has at least one dog and it could get very crazy out there with unleashed dogs playing if someone's dog wasn't under their control. That is the only reason I took a star off.

Response From Boice Cope Park on 8/8/26, 1:14 PM

Thanks for the review. Yes we made a dog park with the only available piece of ground we had, without cutting trees. A small off leash area is better than no area, and the bigger dogs seem to do well down by the lake. Unfortunately some campers abused the off leash "loophole" in the center area resulting in too many piles of dog poo and several dog fights, so we had to start enforcing the park rules. Thanks for staying with us.

A couple of things to beware

Review by Spock on 8/1/26, 6:54 PM

While this is a lovely park, there are a couple of things that newbies should consider. First, while the sail boarders come for the wind, those windy days are not that pleasant for camping. The wind can really blow hard in this campground at times and it is on a bluff, not sheltered up a creek like many coast campgrounds. Second the reservation system is not well automated. The only way to get a refund if you want to cancel is to contact them by phone, and they rarely answer the phone, so one has to leave a message that may or may not be understood. The rules for cancelling are posted, but tricky to understand. Registrations in person on arrival can also get mixed up between the ones that go through the computer system and ones that are made with the envelope resulting in double bookings. The camp hosts are very nice, but not in control of these registration situations. Don't forget to go blueberry picking in season.

Response From Boice Cope Park on 8/8/26, 1:05 PM

Thanks for staying with us. Yes the wind is a mixed blessing, great on the lake, but can make camping a little tougher. We always tell campers if they want a less windy site to reserve one of the sites on the East side of the park. The reservation system is tough as we contract with a service that is a little less then user friendly. That being said, we read all reviews and are always looking for ways to improve the our campers stay so we will pass this along. We do post signs for campers not pay onsite until after 11:00 am so there is no double bookings, we have to get the new signs up and check with no shows, so sometimes campers jump the gun. Thanks again.

 Amazing place with poor wifi

Review by RD on 7/20/26, 2:15 AM

I have enjoyed this campground for more than a decade and give it consistently great reviews. The campground advertises wifi but buyer beware. It is spotty at best. There are too many campers sharing the pipeline and you will be getting dropped on a regular basis. The camping fees and taxes are high. At bare minimum Curry County should spend some money to upgrade the system for commercial use.

Response From Boice Cope Park on 7/30/26, 1:05 PM

Thank you for staying with us, we agree Lake Floras is an amazing place. Our park is the only park located right on the water and our rates are 30%-40% lower than any other park in the area, all of which are miles from the water. We understand your comment about the WiFi. Because we're in a rural location, providing a commercial system that would reliably handle up to several hundred guests would require a very large investment. Our system handles most needs of our guests from streaming movies to browsing the internet, but does get bogged down sometimes. We do want to thank you for taking the time to write as we always want to hear what we can improve, and look forward to having you stay with us again..

Stopped on our way home from the Gorge. Worth the side trip and extra miles. Classic County Campground on the coast. Clean restrooms and nice showers. Heard about this campground years ago and finally made the time to visit. Stoked we found it. Got good wind for the the 4 days we visited .

I kind of hate giving the most excellent review but only because of fear that the more who find out about it, it will lose its appeal. Nonetheless they most certainly do provide a great experience !! The facilities are clean and the grounds are well cared for. My hubby and I have been come here since 2008 and each year it seems to get better!!! I feel like curry county and the “powers” be, have spent money ensuring it stays healthy and accommodating. It’s a great place…. But if we keep giving honest reviews, too many people will ruin such a pleasant and always unforgettable camp ground. Sooo, if you reading the reviews, I made up everything!!! ❤️

 Fantastic

Review by Debbie on 4/17/26, 1:41 AM

We went to the park for 3 days this past week and it was utterly delightful. Small, private and quiet and sits right on the lake with a small walk to the ocean. Amazing fishing off the lake. Wonderful camp host, missy and her sweet dogs. Truly a find! Added bonus was discovering a restaurant called the spoon two and a half miles north in langlois. I felt like I had gone back in time with both places with super friendly people And fantastic food.

 Floras Lake

Review by Lucy on 3/14/26, 9:56 AM

My family is coming up to Floras Lake since the 80's and we have spent our summers at the lake camping at Boice Cope. The kids learned how to windsurf and enjoy and explore nature without the daily hassle of big city live. Even though a lot has changed over the decades the Lake withstood time. It is still as beautiful and tranquil as the first time we visited and the same goes for the surrounding towns. Businesses have come and gone, but the small town fell is still there. You have to come and experience it for yourself to truly appreciate it.

Response From Boice Cope Park on 3/15/26, 5:45 PM

Thank you, Lucy! It is always a pleasure to hear from families who've returned for generations, and to hear you are finding it as pristine and peaceful today as it was when you first discovered it. Come again soon!

It's a great place to camp! Located in a beautiful setting. Beautiful trails to the beach and Florals Lake. Theresa is a wonderful host and a lovely person. She was very generous with our family. We had a problem with our reservation, and she didn't hesitate to help us resolve it. She made our stay special. We would be happy to return to this place!

 Wonderful

Review by Cmpr on 8/28/25, 11:57 PM

We keep coming back, it’s a wonderful campground! Our only concern during this trip were the pet owners who did not follow the leash law. Dogs running and fetching in the central grass area was fine, however, when one wanted to walk the dog around the park grounds constant diversion was required in hopes that the loose dogs would not approach our dog. Our pooch is very friendly but has been attacked numerous times (while on leash) by those running free. Might we suggest a larger or newer signs posted near the park entrance, boat ramp area and the trails with a friendly reminder of the law?

Response From Boice Cope Park on 9/9/25, 12:03 PM

Hello Campr, Thanks for the review and and always coming back, we love it here as well. It is frustrating, but we are constantly reminding guests dogs must be on leash. We try and not be "park police" but some guests seem to refuse to leash their dogs even after repeated reminders. We have been thinking of putting signs in each campsite reminding of the leash law, but the offenders are always aware of the rule, so not sure it will help. We may pushed to system like soccer/baseball, three strikes and you are out of the park. So we feel your frustration as we have to deal with it daily from cleaning up poop, to guarding our own little leashed dogs, but we would love to find a solution. Thanks again, look forward to seeing you at the campground.

 Great spot!

Review by Tom on 8/28/25, 12:20 PM

Boice Cope is my wife and I's favorite place to camp. The hosts are warm, friendly and keep the place clean and tidy. The guests are largely wind sports people who are respectful and easy to camp next to. The access to the lake for wind sports and boating, the access to the beach and the access to the New River are all phenomenal. The surrounding rivers, berry farms and towns (Port Orford, Bandon) make great places to take excursions to. I also appreciate that the you can camp on grass(rather than dirt), there are flush toilets, coin showers and WiFi.

 Drop-in Camping

Review by Jay on 8/19/25, 9:31 AM

My wife and I decided on the spur of the moment to go camping, during the summer, and had a hard time finding anything available. Luckily, we found Boice-Cope and were able to find a tent spot for the night, which we extended to 2 nights with on-line reservations. The park was full of friendly people, was neat and tidy and we were surprised to find showers and laundry facilities! My only wish was that the walk out to the beach (which was lovely by the way) wasn't all deep, loose sand. My wife's only request with camping is beach access and as she is mildly disabled, she was only able to make the trek once because of this. Overall, a very lovely experience!

Response From Boice Cope Park on 8/19/25, 11:43 AM

Thank you for your kind review. When you come back talk to one of the hosts, there is another path that has a lot less deep sand to the beach. Hope to see you again soon. Happy travels.

 Wingin it!

Review by JK on 8/13/25, 9:55 AM

Love coming back here over the years. Started as a windsurfer, evolved to kiting and now wing foil. Great Lake for learning with flat water, consistent wind and shallow water near shore. Perfect spot but very chilly I even in summer, esp. when it’s windy which is what we are here for! Go a couple miles inland and it warms right up though. Many sites are in the shade particularly the tent sites so choose your site well. Nice amenities with well kept grounds and bathrooms w showers. Has earned the moniker of blue balls summer location in Oregon but I am from the gorge where it gets hot.

Review by Linda K on 8/5/25, 10:03 PM

This was our 2nd time here. Loved it both times. Great place to wing, although I do agree with a previous review suggesting a better system for getting across the muddy part of the path. Hosts were awesome, came immediately when we texted our arrival to unlock the power. One of the best parts was the open common area in the middle was perfect for frisbee with my dog. I asked permission, first, and as my dog has excellent recall, the host said it was fine. He was on leash at all other times, as were all the other many dogs we saw, which was great. Didn't have to worry about loose dogs coming up to us. We were in a motorhome so never used any of the facilities so I cannot comment on that. We will definitely be back!!

Nice place, but very little privacy

Response From Boice Cope Park on 8/2/25, 2:25 PM

Thanks for the feedback! We're always working to balance having enough campsites for everyone while still offering as much privacy as we can, it's definitely a bit of a juggling act. Some spots naturally offer more space than others, Our RV sites have approximately 22 feet between them, and our lake view area can be set up in a variety of ways. Site 17 for example only has a neighbor on one side. We appreciate you staying with us and hope to see you again!

 Path needs a little work

Review by RD on 7/22/25, 1:17 AM

I love this place and have been coming here for years. I have two suggestions to make concerning the pathway to the beach. The boards are a great thought to keep people from stepping in the mud but they are trip hazards. There needs to be a wood walkway and not a hodge podge of different size and shape boards. Along the board pathway it is too narrow for boards with foils which is now most of us on the water. The bushes stick out and it is a hazard to carry deflated wings and gear without snagging branches. Kudos to the hosts for pristine bathrooms and a tidy camp. Deb and Teresa are gems. Over the years the quality of the campground has improved. I believe the hosts are the key.

Response From Boice Cope Park on 8/18/25, 12:38 PM

Thank you for your continued support and kind words! We're also thrilled to hear the improvements over the years have stood out to you as we take great pride in the campground. We appreciate your thoughtful feedback about the pathway. You're right, the current setup has been a bit of a patchwork effort to keep people out of the mud. It's clear we need a better long-term solution, but one that's also cost effective, as we have to balance expenses, while keeping fees as low as possible. We're actively discussing options for a more uniform, safe walkway that's wider and easier to navigate, and your input helps guide that planning. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience and we hope to see you back again soon!

 Wind Lover's Camp

Review by Coachg on 7/21/25, 9:04 AM

A great location for people who love winds sports. The restrooms & campground are clean & there are hot showers & laundry. The trees shelter the camp sites from the wind & the lake is just a few meters away. There is a bench on the north west corner that is ideal for watching sunsets as well. The ocean is just a couple hundred meters away with a very long beach to hike along. A great place to get away from the heat.

 Wingers Paradise

Review by Laurie M on 7/13/25, 2:00 PM

We have camped here three years in a row usually in June or July. It is a great place for my husband to wing as he can walk right down to the lake. I love the nearby hiking. We appreciate that the camp is divided into a tent area and an RV area with a large common area in between. The hot showers are a plus as is the utility room with access to plugs, change machine and washer/dyers. The hosts are awesome, very helpful and take good care of the place. Just remember that the Oregon coast can be very cool, wet and foggy even in summer. Also don't count on the wifi for anything important, it's not very dependable, you are on vacation, so hopefully that won't matter.

Response From Boice Cope Park on 7/20/25, 12:08 PM

Perfect spot to enjoy Flores Lake! Boice Cope used to let you book multiple sites with only one $10 booking fee - seems they took this feature away? I message WebReserv and they confirmed it's not on their end and Boice Cope must have made the change. Maybe BC can confirm here if this could be reinstated?

Response From Boice Cope Park on 7/11/25, 12:15 PM

Hello, We have not made any changes to the reservation site. I'm not sure why you have not been able to book multiple trips at one time. If you continue to have trouble please call Deb at 541-247-3386. She is in the office on Mon and Tues, you can call and leave a message and she will get back to you. Have a good day

Great location. Would prefer showers that don't stop in the middle of my shower wanting a few more quarters. The big problem is the on line presence which frankly sucks. They should move to a simpler reservations platform.

Loved it. Beautiful sites and very quiet and peaceful. Loved the views. Clean bathrooms and my only wish is for full hookups but appreciate the water and electricity and the wonderful experience. I will definitely be back.

Thank you for your kind review. The county is looking into putting sewer at the sites. We do love the views here. Hope to see you again. Safe travels.

For the price I would have expected more. The state park is cheaper and cleaner. Sorry but won’t be back

Thanks for the review, sorry you were disappointed. Not familiar with the state parks, but for $20-$35 a day we cant go much lower and keep he gates open. After eight years of full time RV'ing we were ecstatic to find a park with spots on a Lake/Ocean/River for the price, but I get it, I always want a better deal. As far as not very clean, we take pride in having a clean park. Bathrooms are cleaned several times a day, lawns mowed weekly, each campsite is gone through after each quest leaves and prior to the next arriving. We wish you would have stopped by the host spot and let us know what was wrong, particularly if it was bad enough you would never come back? We get compliments daily on the condition of the park and really would like to know what was wrong in case we are missing something. So safe travels, if you ever do decide to give us another chance please stop by the host site and and say hello.

It was a windy day but was so wonderful to watch the windsurfers. Bathrooms were clean. The showers need quarters but I was plenty clean for $1.50. Very quiet at night. Great place & would highly recommend it!
