 Lovely!

Review by LB in Oregon on 8/20/25, 8:28 AM

Great spot! Enjoyed kayaking in the lake, walking along the beach, and hearing the roar of the ocean 24 hours a day. The camp host was friendly and arriving/leaving was easy with a trailer.

 Drop-in Camping

Review by Jay on 8/19/25, 9:31 AM

My wife and I decided on the spur of the moment to go camping, during the summer, and had a hard time finding anything available. Luckily, we found Boice-Cope and were able to find a tent spot for the night, which we extended to 2 nights with on-line reservations. The park was full of friendly people, was neat and tidy and we were surprised to find showers and laundry facilities! My only wish was that the walk out to the beach (which was lovely by the way) wasn't all deep, loose sand. My wife's only request with camping is beach access and as she is mildly disabled, she was only able to make the trek once because of this. Overall, a very lovely experience!

Response From Boice Cope Park on 8/19/25, 11:43 AM

Thank you for your kind review. When you come back talk to one of the hosts, there is another path that has a lot less deep sand to the beach. Hope to see you again soon. Happy travels.

 Wingin it!

Review by JK on 8/13/25, 9:55 AM

Love coming back here over the years. Started as a windsurfer, evolved to kiting and now wing foil. Great Lake for learning with flat water, consistent wind and shallow water near shore. Perfect spot but very chilly I even in summer, esp. when it’s windy which is what we are here for! Go a couple miles inland and it warms right up though. Many sites are in the shade particularly the tent sites so choose your site well. Nice amenities with well kept grounds and bathrooms w showers. Has earned the moniker of blue balls summer location in Oregon but I am from the gorge where it gets hot.

 Love it here

Review by Linda K on 8/5/25, 10:03 PM

This was our 2nd time here. Loved it both times. Great place to wing, although I do agree with a previous review suggesting a better system for getting across the muddy part of the path. Hosts were awesome, came immediately when we texted our arrival to unlock the power. One of the best parts was the open common area in the middle was perfect for frisbee with my dog. I asked permission, first, and as my dog has excellent recall, the host said it was fine. He was on leash at all other times, as were all the other many dogs we saw, which was great. Didn't have to worry about loose dogs coming up to us. We were in a motorhome so never used any of the facilities so I cannot comment on that. We will definitely be back!!

Thank you for the wonderful review. We are working on ideas for the path. Hope to see you soon. Have a great day.

Nice place, but very little privacy

Response From Boice Cope Park on 8/2/25, 2:25 PM

Thanks for the feedback! We're always working to balance having enough campsites for everyone while still offering as much privacy as we can, it's definitely a bit of a juggling act. Some spots naturally offer more space than others, Our RV sites have approximately 22 feet between them, and our lake view area can be set up in a variety of ways. Site 17 for example only has a neighbor on one side. We appreciate you staying with us and hope to see you again!

 Path needs a little work

Review by RD on 7/22/25, 1:17 AM

I love this place and have been coming here for years. I have two suggestions to make concerning the pathway to the beach. The boards are a great thought to keep people from stepping in the mud but they are trip hazards. There needs to be a wood walkway and not a hodge podge of different size and shape boards. Along the board pathway it is too narrow for boards with foils which is now most of us on the water. The bushes stick out and it is a hazard to carry deflated wings and gear without snagging branches. Kudos to the hosts for pristine bathrooms and a tidy camp. Deb and Teresa are gems. Over the years the quality of the campground has improved. I believe the hosts are the key.

Response From Boice Cope Park on 8/18/25, 12:38 PM

Thank you for your continued support and kind words! We're also thrilled to hear the improvements over the years have stood out to you as we take great pride in the campground. We appreciate your thoughtful feedback about the pathway. You're right, the current setup has been a bit of a patchwork effort to keep people out of the mud. It's clear we need a better long-term solution, but one that's also cost effective, as we have to balance expenses, while keeping fees as low as possible. We're actively discussing options for a more uniform, safe walkway that's wider and easier to navigate, and your input helps guide that planning. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience and we hope to see you back again soon!

 Wind Lover's Camp

Review by Coachg on 7/21/25, 9:04 AM

A great location for people who love winds sports. The restrooms & campground are clean & there are hot showers & laundry. The trees shelter the camp sites from the wind & the lake is just a few meters away. There is a bench on the north west corner that is ideal for watching sunsets as well. The ocean is just a couple hundred meters away with a very long beach to hike along. A great place to get away from the heat.

 Wingers Paradise

Review by Laurie M on 7/13/25, 2:00 PM

We have camped here three years in a row usually in June or July. It is a great place for my husband to wing as he can walk right down to the lake. I love the nearby hiking. We appreciate that the camp is divided into a tent area and an RV area with a large common area in between. The hot showers are a plus as is the utility room with access to plugs, change machine and washer/dyers. The hosts are awesome, very helpful and take good care of the place. Just remember that the Oregon coast can be very cool, wet and foggy even in summer. Also don't count on the wifi for anything important, it's not very dependable, you are on vacation, so hopefully that won't matter.

Response From Boice Cope Park on 7/20/25, 12:08 PM

Thank you for your kind review. When the park is full the wifi does struggle a bit. Hope to see you again soon. Safe travels.

Great spot - for windsports enthusiast espeasially.

Review by Justin on 7/1/25, 10:37 AM

Perfect spot to enjoy Flores Lake! Boice Cope used to let you book multiple sites with only one $10 booking fee - seems they took this feature away? I message WebReserv and they confirmed it's not on their end and Boice Cope must have made the change. Maybe BC can confirm here if this could be reinstated?

Response From Boice Cope Park on 7/11/25, 12:15 PM

Hello, We have not made any changes to the reservation site. I'm not sure why you have not been able to book multiple trips at one time. If you continue to have trouble please call Deb at 541-247-3386. She is in the office on Mon and Tues, you can call and leave a message and she will get back to you. Have a good day

This campground is great. It’s quiet and away from Hwy. 101. RV campsite was perfect with electricity and water. Clean restrooms and free wi-fi were much appreciated. There were only 4 or 5 sites occupied each of the 3 nights we were there. Really enjoyed the easy access to the beach. We’ll be back!

 Great area

Review by No reservations on 10/12/24, 1:23 PM

Great location. Would prefer showers that don't stop in the middle of my shower wanting a few more quarters. The big problem is the on line presence which frankly sucks. They should move to a simpler reservations platform.

Review by Dinky on 9/12/24, 2:38 PM

For the price I would have expected more. The state park is cheaper and cleaner. Sorry but won’t be back

Response From Boice Cope Park on 9/15/24, 12:54 PM

Thanks for the review, sorry you were disappointed. Not familiar with the state parks, but for $20-$35 a day we cant go much lower and keep he gates open. After eight years of full time RV'ing we were ecstatic to find a park with spots on a Lake/Ocean/River for the price, but I get it, I always want a better deal. As far as not very clean, we take pride in having a clean park. Bathrooms are cleaned several times a day, lawns mowed weekly, each campsite is gone through after each quest leaves and prior to the next arriving. We wish you would have stopped by the host spot and let us know what was wrong, particularly if it was bad enough you would never come back? We get compliments daily on the condition of the park and really would like to know what was wrong in case we are missing something. So safe travels, if you ever do decide to give us another chance please stop by the host site and and say hello.

 Perfect for wind sports

Review by Kitesurfer on 8/29/24, 5:20 PM

Floras lake is a well known destination for wind sports. It is nearly always windy and with the wind comes cooler temperatures. Because the campground is so near the ocean, it is frequently cloudy and/or misty even when there are blue skies a few miles east. Be prepared for cool and windy conditions. There is a lot to do and see. One can hike south to Black lock point, or go North along the beach to hunt for agates. If you do go North, leave your dogs at home because the area is protected Snowy plover habitat. You WILL be cited if you bring your dog north of the lake. On windy days it's exciting to watch the kiters doing tricks and impressively big jumps. If kiting or winging looks like fun, you can talk to the folks at Floras Lake Wind Sports about learning to kite or foil. Who knows!? Maybe you could be doing those massive jumps someday!

We went there to wing foil on the lake and boy was it windy. We LOVED our spot, power and water hookup with plenty of room for our 32 ft RV plus tow car (Explorer, so not tiny). Camp hosts were super nice kept the place immaculate. Large open field in the center of the park where we played chuckit with our dog. Very quiet at night. We did not use the restroom or laundry. It's hard to get a spot here so we felt lucky. Will def be back!

 Very clean and well presented

Review by Tricky on 8/10/24, 11:12 AM

We had site #36 for two nights. The site was clean, spacious and set fairly near to the bathrooms. It also had the drinking water tap nearby - the water was really good. Other campers were quiet and at night all you could hear was the ocean. Of course, Floras Lake is very windy in the day, hence the large numbers of wind and kite surfers, but it dropped as the sun went down. Bathrooms were clean, and the shower had perfect temperature water, with plenty of time to shampoo, shower and even condition the hair. We didn't meet the hosts but admired their 'flower garden' outside their camper as we walked round the site.

 Very comfy

Review by Joey on 8/7/24, 1:36 AM

After playing for a South Coast Folk Society contradance at Langlois Cheese Factory, Boice-Cope Campground was an ideal place to crash. Some of the sites seem less than desirable. #12 or 13 is right by the trail to the lake. #s 15, 16, 17 were a little small and cramped. Some other tent sites looked very small and without any privacy. I wish there was a another small restroom at the far end of the campground. It was a busy August weekend without any vacancy, but I wish the existing restrooms were a little cleaner. Would be nice to provide paper towel and a shelf for toiletries by the two sinks. The campground's location is perfect for quick access to the area's recreational opportunities, hiking trails to Blackrock Point and into the New River Area of Critical Environmental Concern, and provisions including the world-famous hot dog, breakfast burritos, hot coffee, beer and other necessities at Langlois Market.

Response From Boice Cope Park on 8/15/24, 2:40 PM

Thanks for the review. 12 and 13 are some of our favorite spots due to the quick access to the lake, but I get it, check out the map on the website as some of the spots on either end offer more privacy. The tent area is an open area and it seems to work well for most as many appreciate the ability to set up as needed. On busy, sold out weekends the bathrooms get hit hard and we check on them multiple times throughout the day but can only do so much, sorry if you hit them after a rush. I like the idea of a shelf in the bathroom maybe look at doing something. With only 44 spots probably can't add a bathroom without increasing the cost to campers.

 So very disappointed!

Review by Witcher family on 7/29/24, 2:32 PM

Last year was our first time at Boice Cope and we enjoyed it very much. So, in February of '24, we made reservations for late July, '24. We were camping with friends, and always reserve side by side sites. Due to a mix-up with someone ELSE being in our assigned spot and already set up, we set up on the only site next to our friends (without paying any attention to the reservation tag.) An honest mistake, considering. We then discovered we should actually be in the spot where the motor home was already set up, so we went to the camp host to straighten things out. She determined that the person who SHOULD be in the spot we were in had not called to verify that they would be showing up late, and so their spot was relinquished to us. That saved the people who had set up in our reserved spot from having to take down and move. HOWEVER, the host "forgot" to change things on line that indicated the site we were in was reserved for 3 days. So, on the day before WE were scheduled to leave, they said we'd have to move. We asked why the incoming person could not temporarily set up on an open spot so we could stay our final night where we were. Their answer was the other people "were staying longer, so WE would have to move." There was NOTHING fair about the whole situation since it was the HOST who flubbed up. We are awaiting a refund for our final night, though we have heard not a peep from the department. My husband is disabled and setting up/taking down our RV is a MAJOR undertaking. We will NOT be back!

Response From Boice Cope Park on 8/15/24, 2:31 PM

Thanks for the review, sorry things did not turn out the way you had hoped. Just wanted to clear up a few points. Your name was on the spot you reserved, and the name on your spot was not yours, yet you did not come to let us know you were in the wrong spot until you were completely set up and had already had dinner. You asked to not have to move due to your husband being disabled. The camp host said she would try to make that work. Much like your "honest mistake" we were not able to extend the reservation, not really a mistake and not "Flubbed up" as the reservation was already booked by someone else. We came and spoke with you in the morning and stated we would need you to move to the spot you reserved back in February as the new people coming in were staying longer then one night in the spot they had reserved. You demanded we move the people coming in, because your husband was disabled. We could not simply move other people so you could stay in the incorrect spot as it would have involved moving multiple campers that were all in their correct spots. You forgot to mention we did offer to move your camp over so all you would have to do is hook up your trailer and back in. So too bad it did not work out, but we made multiple concessions, offers and attempts to make the situation as painless as possible yet were met with accusations, finger pointing and blaming for a situation we did not create, Last point you did not mention is we let you stay long after check out time, to the point the campers coming in to their spot, the one you were camped in, had to park on the road and wait several hours for you to leave. Since you decided to leave early, the refund policy is very clear, that you do not get a refund.

 Enjoyed my time

Review by Nico on 7/27/24, 2:19 PM

Only negative i have is the big lawn. It is scary to walk across. Have to look down for every step as its not smooth. Lots of holes. Have jammed my knees a couple of times. Also would be a concern for someone with weak ankles. Would like to see it smoothed out and replanted. The moles/gophers have made a mess of it. Everything else was awesome. Staff are great. Services are nice for such a small campground.

 Great little hidden gem

Review by Ren on 7/23/24, 4:37 AM

We stayed in site 14 and it was wonderful. The site is very large and has a great fire pit spot. The tent camping and center sites were not as shaded, so I recommend the back corner. But even though the park is fairly open, it was super quiet. Folks just did their thing. Lots of dogs and everyone showed great dog etiquette. Many of the people staying were enjoying various water sports, which was fun to watch. Also the hosts were really nice and accommodating and the sites and common areas were clean and well maintained. I was just stopping over for a couple of nights to attend a conference, but I will make this a regular stop now that I know about it.

This was our first stay at the campground and it was perfect! We had a flat tent spot, enjoyed the easy going atmosphere of other campers, appreciated the "resource center" to charge our devices, hot showers to wash the sand off, scenic Floras Lake Loop Trail, and more. Leslie the campground host is wonderful and friendly, too! We will definitely return in the future.

This was our 4th visit and each time we drive away we think about when we can return. We love everything about this place! The beauty, walks on the beach, wonderful wind sports and lessons, clean facilities, quiet evenings and excellent hosts. See you next year!!!!
