Costa Rica Homestays Features

Costa Rica Homestays was founded to offer an alternative to traditional tourism that will provide you the opportunity to see and experience so much more than what a vacation package including hotel and guided tours can offer. You will become enmeshed in the culture, values, traditions, and everyday life of Costa Ricans by becoming part of their family. A Costa Rica home stay will provide an informal classroom to learn or improve your Spanish. Your presence in the family will also enrich your host family by giving them the opportunity to improve their English and learn something about your culture and customs. An all inclusive Costa Rica home stay is an excellent and economical option for a short or long term vacation experience that will also provide a home base for your day or weekend trips to see and experience the beauty and richness of this enchanting country.

Costa Rica Homestays Attractions

Costa Rica really has it all, it's considered one of the happiest places in the world. It features some of the most amazing volcanoes, lush rainforests, beautiful beaches on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts as well as an abundance of flora and fauna. Costa Ricans, Ticos, are very civic minded, and very proud of their long standing Democracy. Costa Rica is ranked as one of the safest countries in Latin America. The Central Valley extends from the western town of San Ramon in Alajuela to the eastern town of Paraiso in Cartago. To the north, it is bordered by the Heredia Mountains, where the Barva and the Irazu Volcanoes are located, and to the south is bordered by the Talamanca mountain range. The Central Valley is the union of Costa Rica’s principal cities; San Jose, Heredia, Alajuela and Cartago. San Ramon and Palmares are located in the western end of the Central Valley, whereas Santa Ana is located just 10 miles west of San Jose. More than half of the population lives and works in the Central Valley. The climate in the Central Valley is lovely year round. Temperatures average about 73 degrees throughout the year and there are two seasons, the dry season which runs from December through mid May, and the rainy season which runs from mid May through November. The dry season is cool and breezy because of the prevailing trade winds, and the rainy season is generally warmer with sunny mornings leading into mid afternoon to early evening rains. It doesn´t rain everyday in the rainy season, and there are three “little summers” that are periods of one to two weeks of dry weather within the rainy season. These usually occur for two weeks in mid June, one week in early August and another in early September.
