Best Kayak or SUP experience in the Bay!
Review by Shaz on 7/16/21, 12:48 PM
I've been going here for more years than I can count. I typically just book an hour or two, but in the past, have also done the 3 month / season package to enjoy.

Great guide in Chris who paced our paddling excursion exactly right. We went Behind the stadium, out to the houseboats, and then around to the Bay Bridge. Not only was he a great kayak expert, he also had lots of information about San Francisco to share. A most enjoyable afternoon!.

My son and I had the perfect day kayaking on Mother's Day. Great experience and wonderful help/support and teaching from everyone there. We will be back.

Great service by the laid-back and informative group at City Kayak. I've rented kayaks for my family 2 times now for a trip to famous Mc Covey Cove during a Giants game. September/October is a great time to get out on the Bay!

This is the first time I used City Kayak, as I was having visitors from overseas and thought this is a great way to spend a quality time with them and show them a different side of SF. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, trip was run in a very efficient manner and a great time was had by all. Parking was a bit tight, so come together in one car if you can.
Excellent Experience

Having an old friend visit from out of town, I was looking for fun things to do in the Bay Area. I had never rented a kayak from City Kayak, and I was hoping we could do the downtown tour - a great way to see the city. Instead, we ended up renting a double kayak and paddling to McCovey Cove during a Giants game. It was so much more fun! We got to see what was on the downtown tour and experience what it is like to catch a fly ball. We spent almost five hours on the water. Bring suntan lotion as well as food, drink, and a camera as the waters were pretty calm for us!
What a blast!

We scheduled the downtown City Kayak tour very last minute. This one is for beginners (me.) We showed up and got right into the lesson about how to command the kayak. We were given individual kayaks with rudder pedals, which was nice because if you are just learning you can make mistakes and it won't impact a kayak buddy. And then we were out on the salt water, having a blast, paddling, loving the sea air, waving to the fans at the ballpark, and enjoying ourselves thoroughly. The staff at City Kayak is very knowledgeable, safety conscious, and laid-back. Perfect folks for this kind of excursion especially if you don't have a lot of experience in a kayak. They also have tours for more advanced kayakers including nighttime excursions. Ellen was a very patient and interesting tour guide -- she made it really enjoyable. BTW, maybe just an accidental perk but we were on the water for about 2 and half hours. We really got our money's worth.
