The campground is carry-in/carry-out. Please plan ahead and be ready to take your trash home with you.
Chewonki’s Big Eddy Campground is a wilderness campground. Our stewardship goal is to maintain the natural beauty of Big Eddy for a true wilderness experience. Chewonki promotes low-impact camping and a thorough respect for the natural world.
We do not have a telephone at the campground. Please email bigeddy@chewonki.org OR call 207-882-7323 ext. 180. Leave a detailed voice message and include your email so we can respond to you.
Upon reservation, you will be asked to pay in full for your stay. If you are unsure of the number in your party, please reserve for one camper. Once a reservation has been made, there will be no refunds. If an emergency situation has arisen or your reservation has been impacted by COVID-19, please contact us. Rescheduling requests must be made two weeks in advance.
