Mere minutes from the University of Virginia, Monticello, Skyline Drive, Wintergreen, wineries and breweries, the cabin conveniently sits in the center of regional tourist attractions that fan out in four directions. Perched 2,000 feet above Brown's Gap Valley, eye level with Skyline Drive, Bailey's Retreat lives up to its name. Boasting the best sunset in western Albemarle, our dramatic skies and beautiful Blue Ridge views evolve every hour, every season. Settle into Adirondack chairs and sip some local wine. Baileys Retreat Features

Simple and Sublime. Lovingly and rustically restored, our 600sf cabin features an original stone fireplace, ladder-accessed queen sleeping loft, micro-kitchen, and a charming claw footed bath where you can sink down and soak it all in. A beamed ceiling, wood flooring, plaster walls and period details evoke the simplicity of an earlier era while an ample front porch provides plenty of shade. A backdrop of birdsong invites you to think, write, paint, strum, or gin up games to enjoy an unplugged existence.

Wines from some two dozen wineries in the Monticello American Viticultural Area (named for Jefferson's home) are considered among the best produced in the Eastern US.
