About Arrowmont Stables & Cabins, LLC

You choose from among 5 different trails. Before every trail ride you are provided with a safety program covering how the horses are trained, some about safety plus horse personality. Then you are given an opportunity to try your horse out in the ring to see if you have a good match. If not, we'll change horses for you. This all takes about 30 minutes or more. Then you start on the trail itself.
You have choices varying from a scenic valley with creeks, streams and a small lake to majestic mountain tops with 30 mile views out to deep wood fern forests; or, combinations of all of them!

REGARDING HORSEBACK RIDING TRAILS

Trail Ride Demonstrations Start at:
10:00AM, 1:00PM, and 3:30PM Monday through Saturday, April through October.

November through March Trail times are more weather dependent but generally start at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM Monday through Saturday

Safety: Before every trail ride a safety video or live demo is presented covering how the horses have been trained, safety tips and horse personality. You are then given an opportunity to try your horse out in the ring, and if needed, we will change horses for you. Helmets are provided free of charge.

Availability: Trails Go RAIN OR SHINE. Ponchos and rain gear are provided. Stables Are Open Year Round. Closed Sundays, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Reservations: Reservations are needed for horseback riding. You might just show up when we are on a trail ride and wonder where everyone is. June through October, give 5 - 10 days lead time. A day and a half lead time is recommended the rest of the year.

Trail Choices: Thereare 5 different walking trails, a Walk-Trot-Canter and a Luncheon Ride. The rates start at $59.50 and go up to $149 for the Walk-Trot-Canter and/or Luncheon Ride. There are also special "Proposal" or "Sweetheart" Rides with at least 2 weeks notice.

Deposit: $59.50 per person riding is charged to secure your reservation. This allows you to ride the shortest trail, the Fern Forest. But, upon arrival, you may choose to change to one of the more majestic trails for a nominal additional fee. The trails are truly awesome, and if you don't ride very often, the 2 Hour Combination is definitely a worthwhile upgrade. Upgrades may be paid in Cash, Traveler's Checks, or Credit Card upon arrival.

When you arrive, you may upgrade your trail choice for your group. But, if you know you want a specific trail, put it in the notes section when you reserve and we'll be better prepared.

Cancellation Policy : 24 Hour Cancellation Policy on Trail Rides for groups of 7 or less. 10 Day Cancellation Policy for groups of 8 or more on Trail Rides. There is a $59.50 cancellation fee per horse if you do not call within the cancellation period for your group size and get a cancellation code for your group.

If you don't show on the day of your reservation or cancel beforehand, there is no refund.

Rates May Change Without Notice

Trail times are approximate. The rate is based on the trail and not time. Please understand, it's hard to "push button" a horse to be exact.

Regarding Vacation Cabins
Occupancy: Vacation cabin standard occupancy is a maximum of 6 people. Efficiency unit occupancy is a maximum of 4 people.

Check In: You may check-in between 4 PM and 6 PM.

Check Out: Check-out is at 11 AM except on Sunday. Sundays have a late check-out of 3 PM.

Late Arrival: If you are arriving after 6 PM, please call and we will make arrangements for you to gain entrance to your cabin.

Deposit: 33% deposit on your credit card for confirmed reservations. For reservations with less than two weeks notice, the full payment due with taxes is required.

Taxes: There are state and local taxes required. North Carolina Sales Tax is 8% and Jackson County Travel & Tourism Tax is 3%.

Payment: You may use Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express to secure your reservation and pay your deposit. Upon arrival, you may pay the balance due with cash or credit cards.

Cancellation: Two weeks cancellation notice is required for deposit refund less a $20 credit card processing fee. For less than 2 weeks, notice the full payment is required. We recommend you purchase Trip Insurance to avoid any possible problems.

"No Show": The Full cabin/room charge plus any applicable taxes is required.

Pets: We're sorry. We are too small to set aside a Vacation Cabin just for pets. If a pet is found in your cabin, the minimum charge starts at $200 and will be charged to your credit card.

VACATION CABINS:

Cancellation Policy: All deposits are refundable with a Two(2) Week notice. Cabin Reservation changes need two weeks notification for any refunds. You will be given a cancellation code to receive a refund. There are no refunds for changes, early departures or late arrivals with less than two weeks notice.

Deposits: 33% deposit on your credit card for cabin reservations with greater than two weeks confirmation. For reservations with less than two weeks confirmation, the full payment due with taxes is required. Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express may be used.

Occupancy: Cabin Rates are based on a maximum of 6 occupants. This is a No Smoking cabin.

Security Deposit : A $300 security deposit or Travel Insurance is required in addition to the 33% deposit. The security deposit is refunded if your cabin is left in good shape. If our staff is required to clean your kitchen after you leave, a $50 cleaning fee is charged. Dishes/pots need to be washed to avoid kitchen cleaning fee.
