Incredible time at the River Inn

We had an incredible two night stay at the River Inn for my birthday this past month. The hospitality was amazing, the room was cozy and the food was delicious. We didn't take too much time to enjoy the outdoor porches because we happened to be there during a heat wave, but those look like they would be very enjoyable during the cooler months. It was great to be right down the street from downtown Brownville, so perfect for a weekend of exploring. My husband and I highly recommend this place if you're looking for an excuse to disconnect and slow down for a day or two. The views of the river are beautiful, and the rooms are simple but very modernized. Also, don't miss breakfast! That's one of the best parts of staying here. It's a great chance to chat with the owner and staff about the history of the boat, and the food is amazing. We lucked out that Biscuits and Gravy was on the menu the last morning we were there - delicious!

Very comfortable stay with great staff. Clean rooms, fantastic food, coffee unbelievable. We have stayed several times and will continue to return for more adventures and stories. Very relaxing times on the river , thanks to all involved.
Love being on the water

River Inn Resort is very unique lodging. Not often do you get to sleep on a river boat that is actually in the water. We've stayed there many times and always found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. The breakfast is fantastic and you won't go away hungry.
Great stay

Spent our anniversary on the boat. Had a lovely time. E had just gone to the Arcadia Museum in Kansas City about a steamer they found in a cornfield that had sank, so it was fun and nostalgic to stay on a piece of history ourselves. Only met Marty, but he was wonderful !

I am giving this 5 stars; not for the current condition, but for the original vision. It was a very pleasant and relaxing 3 days on the Missouri. Staff and other guests could not be more pleasant. Room was comfortable and clean as was much of the boat. It just needs a refurb. I would suggest utilizing the campground and let us old bastards and others stay free for providing free help. We went to a ghost town in New Mexico that was using that system and it was working. Thanks for the hardwork you fine folks are putting in. We hope to be back soon; and, we very much hope for your success. Mike and Mary Dodson

We love River Inn Resort. It is a unique B&B, the river was tranquil, the hosts & guests friendly, and the breakfast delicious! We highly recommend this resort.

We loved staying right on the river and being able to walk out our door, sit down and read a book while watching the river go by. Large breakfast included and the staff were all polite, friendly, and very helpful. We are looking forward to our next trip to stay on the river again and visit the charming town of Brownville.

We have enjoyed staying on the River Inn for 3yrs now. From the first stay to our 8th stay we have had a fun relaxing stay every minute. From the Welcoming From Lisa and Marte and Family Fun Caring Conversations. Fantastic Breakfast. Always eager to tell you the stories of the Inn They stop what they're doing to answer questions make sure you have everything you need. Superb place to stay on your mini vacations passing through or A week stay is pretty awesome too. Thank You River Inn Crew

This is the best place to stay. The staff is very friendly and always has a good conversation with you. The breakfast is phenomenal and you donâÃÂÃÂt go away hungry . I highly recommend this place. Very very clean rooms and an awesome view of the river.

Had a delightful stay. We called ahead to advise we were in town and Marty thoughtfully put the heat on in our suite before we arrived. Both Lisa and Marty provided many dining options and excellent service. We enjoy having a room on the water side and seeing the river activity. We highly recommend this venue, especially if you're attending the Brownville Concert Series.

We stayed for one night at the River Inn Resort and had the best experience! The room we stayed in had a beautiful view, was very clean, and was exactly what we needed. Breakfast the next morning also completely exceeded our expectations! We will absolutely be staying again.

March stay

My Fiance and I just needed a night away from home The reservation was a breeze to plan. Arriving and having someone happy to see us and chat with us and offer any other services we might need. We were only ones staying that evening but the view was breathtaking and the room was inviting. Breakfast next morning and wonderful conversation with Marte and Lisa we thoroughly enjoyed. We always find it hard to leave as it's so serene and the river view and wildlife and the spoiling we receive. Outstanding. Thank You River Inn

We had an amazing stay. We came after New Year and had the whole boat to ourselves. We stayed in one of the executive suites and it was fantastic. Beautiful room, great stop at the winery. Breakfast the next day was excellent. Overall we loved the stay and our time there.

We absolutely love staying here. We have done a Dinner Cruise. Great food and plenty time to enjoy the scenery. We have attended 2 Dinner and Shows. We have really enjoyed the plays and the amazing food. Breakfast is always delicious. Rooms are so clean and comfortable. The owners and staff are wonderful people. They always make us feel welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Nov. 2nd. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Marty was a great host. Steve from the BHS picked us up and gave a very enjoyable tour of historic Brownville. The breakfast was very delicious. A quaint, unique setting, very relaxing. We'll be back!

Very nice room, very clean and spacious. The staff are so pleasant to visit with and passionate about their wonderful community. The view being right on the river is stunning yet peaceful. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, especially the muffins, and enjoyed the comradery of the other guests. Thank you for a great respite!

Great place to stay if you are looking for a rustic riverboat experience! Our room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast served every morning was wonderful and plenty of food! We celebrated our 43rd anniversary there and went on the riverboat dinner cruise! We enjoyed the evenings on the deck. We plan to come back.

Great place to stay if you are looking for a rustic riverboat experience! Our room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast served every morning was wonderful and plenty of food! Great way to relax! Quiet and peaceful! Handicapped accessible on all levels. Staff are great! Would definitely recommend and go stay there again.

What a great Inn, staff and town of Brownville! The river boat was awesome as well! You must tour the Captain Lewis Merriweather right next door as well ! Already planning another trip in the fall!

Relaxing stay

Enjoyed our stay last weekend. Loved the easy access from the room to the deck overlooking the river. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in anywhere. The breakfast served was delicious and they make sure you don't go hungry. Plan on staying there again!

We decided to have a get away for the 4th of July. My husband and I stayed at the inn, had the dinner cruise and the fireworks cruise. The room was amazing. Very clean, comfortable , and quiet . The dinner was better than I expected. The roast beef was the best I have ever eaten. It was tender and juicy. Not to mention the flavor was to die for. Then the fireworks cruise. They had amazing music and the show was great. The captain positioned the boat perfectly. This was be best vacation my husband and I have had!!!!!!

July 4th Fireworks Cruise Stay

My Fiance and I have had such Outstanding Service and Fun stays it's #5 for us. We just can't stay away long Our online registration and also just a friendly call to chat with Marty was Great! We stayed Fri July 4th - Sun:) The Fireworks Cruise was so fun and watching the fireworks from the boat with the crew and meeting new people who were excited as we were! Lisa and James were Amazing with Everything pertaining to our stay. The questions answered the professionalism. We booked the dinner cruise also that Sat evening. Ham roast beef veggie salad potatoes roll and cake. And the famous Paddlewheel Punch. We felt like a member of their family our whole stay. The room was perfect and comfortable. I enjoyed just sitting outside the room watching the river go by. Breakfast served both Mornings was definitely made with Love. Delicious! Each time we stall to leave as it's such an Amazing time. WE APPRECIATE YOU! THANK YOU! Definitely looking forward to our next stay soon.

Anniversary Stay

I booked a weekend and one dinner cruise and it was amazing. Everyone there treats you like family, you go there to stay but come back to visit them! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The dim lights above our bed were my favorite, enough for ambient lighting but not enough to blind you. The heat lamp in the bathroom was wonderful. We had a small refrigerator and coffee pot as well in our room. We were in room 109 so the view of the river every morning and evening was beautiful, we would just hang outside of our room, didnât need to go higher if we didnât want to, but we absolutely could if we wanted to. Breakfast was fantastic. I have CD, so they made sure to tell me what was and was not safe and make reasonable substitutions if they could. The same thing with the dinner cruise! I always try to find something that my bf will like for our anniversary, I hit it out of the ballpark with this one!

Excellent and exceptional

Booked a room and dinner cruise for my grandmother and I and it did not disappoint. The room was very clean with an incredibly comfortable bed and pillows. Well laid-out so with a walk-in corner shower that easily accommodated my grandmother. The rooms were quiet with excellent blinds. Outside seating on the deck provided an excellent place to relax, chat, and watch the river go by. The dinner cruise was well organized with a delicious meal. All staff was very friendly and made us feel comfortable and they ensured we had a good time. Morning breakfast was superb and very filling with blueberry muffins to rave about. From booking online to check out, the whole experience was fantastic. Marty, thank you for answering all my booking questions, being so accommodating, making us laugh, and sharing so much information about the area and the boats. Lisa, thank you for the laughs and making us feel like we were friends of yours welcome any time. You went out of your way to make sure we were taken care of without making it seem like you were going out of your way. We loved the background you gave on how the Inn came to be. James, we truly appreciated and loved all of the stories you shared about your history as well as the history of the Inn, the Spirit of Brownville, and the town. Rob, thank you so much for your extra efforts with my grandma and I on the dinner cruise and making things much easier for us. Those little actions go a long way! Last but not least thank you to Tracy for the great cleaning she did ahead of our arrival to make sure our room was clean, tidy, and smelling fresh and clean. Very well done by all staff and I highly recommend a cruise and stay at the Inn for anyone.

Expectations Exceeded!

While we expected a nice place our expectations were exceeded on every level. The rooms were great, the breakfast was outstanding, and everyone was very nice to talk with. We are working on when we will be returning and will be recommending to friends and family.

Everyone at the River Inn is top notch! They make us feel like family, and we consider them the same! We go every year, and the rooms are clean and comfortable every time. Graduation Weekend

We stayed at the River Inn Resort May 9th & 10th, 2025 and also held our son's college graduation celebration there and had the absolute best time! Lisa was an amazing host and did everything she could to make our stay and our celebration as smooth as possible. The breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious, and our room was clean and comfortable with an amazing river view. We enjoyed sitting out in the mornings with our coffee and in the evenings with a cocktail with the beautiful view. I have literally told everyone about this resort and what a great place it is. Thank you for making our weekend so memorable - we will be back!

My husband and I stayed for our anniversary. We had a great time. The view of the river was amazing! The room was very nice and comfortable. They served us a delicious breakfast. I highly recommend this place.
The river just makes everything perfect for an anniversary doesn't it?!! Come this summer and ride with us on the Dinner Cruise!
